Meet Our Dental Team Nampa, Idaho

Kara joined our team in June 2022. In addition to working as our treatment coordinator, she is also a certified dental assistant and often acts as a bridge between our front office and our clinical area. She loves working with our amazing patients to help them smile and being part of the Modern Smiles Nampa family.

Kara grew up in the dental industry. She has two cats, Tiny and Fuzzbucket, and in her spare time enjoys reading and learning.

Kamill joined our team in 2015 and enjoys the relationships she has built with our patients and her coworkers. She works hard to help our office succeed and grow, using her knowledge of reports and problems solving skills to help our practice run smoothly and our patients have a positive experience.

Kamille and her husband have been married since 2019. She has one stepson and one daughter. Kamill loves to be outdoors, and can often be found outdoors hunting, paddleboarding, camping, fishing and going on adventures with her family. She also enjoys spending time with her family’s animals.

Laci attended Carrington College, and originally joined our team in 2022. She left briefly in January of 2024, and rejoined our team in June 2024. She enjoys her coworkers, and is committed to helping educate her patients as she works with them to achieve better oral health.

Mykayla earned her associate’s degree at Carington College, and has more than 12 years of experience in the dental field. She initially working as a sterilization assistant in high school, ultimately deciding to change from nursing school to dental hygiene. Mykayla joined our team in 2022, and loves meeting new people and getting to work with such a great team each day. She works hard to help our patients maintain great oral hygiene.

Mykayla grew up in Caldwell and has lived there all her life, expect for three years when she lived in Kentucky where her husband was stationed. Outside the office, Mykayla can be found chasing her three kids, watching them grow and taking them to all their sporting events. She also is working towards a goal of creating a garden, and can now keep indoor plants alive.

Malerie joined the practice in 2025 and serves as a Dental Assistant. She attended Carrington College, where she earned her Dental Assistant certification.

She enjoys being part of a team-oriented environment and appreciates how everyone works together to support patients and one another. Malerie contributes to the success of the practice by helping keep the office clean and welcoming for every patient.

She has a son who lights up her world and serves as her daily motivation.

Outside of work, Malerie enjoys camping, fishing, listening to music, spending time at the river, paddle boarding, playing Magic and DND, baking and having dinners and campfires with family and friends.

Nelly Ortiz joined the practice in 2025 and serves as the Marketing Specialist. She is currently pursuing her Dental Assistant certification.

Nelly enjoys learning how oral health impacts overall health and is passionate about helping make dental care more accessible to the Hispanic community. She contributes to the success of the practice by marketing services, providing user-friendly tools for scheduling services, and managing branding efforts.

She is a full-time mom to two boys and a girl. Outside of work, Nelly enjoys movie watching, crocheting, and baking. She is also a lover of all things sci-fi, fantasy, and horror.
